Wilmot Field Day 2026: US guru of regenerative agriculture, Allen Williams to headline

US guru of regenerative agriculture, Dr Allen Wiliams, will feature amongst a diverse line-up of international and Australian experts presenting at Australia’s Premier Regenerative Agriculture event, Wilmot Field Day (WFD), taking place on 4-5 March 2026.

Today’s announcement, which coincides with the opening of Early Bird Ticket sales, comes amid discussions about the pathways for agriculture to contribute to Australia’s new emissions targets and the recent release of the Agriculture and Land Sector Plan, which notes the tangible carbon storage and biodiversity outcomes achievable through farm management practices.

WFD 2026 will give attendees a rare chance to hear from Dr Williams, who will provide insights into the opportunities for Australia to capitalise on the growing global interest in regenerative agriculture.

A sixth-generation rancher, consultant and self-described recovering academic, Dr Williams is known for his evidence-based approach to farming and grazing management practices to enhance soil and landscape health, restore nature and deliver climate solutions.

“Healthy soils are the foundation of resilient food systems. By focusing on the core principles of regenerative agriculture we can significantly improve productivity, ecological health, economic health, and resiliency,” Dr Williams said.

“During my visit to Australia, I will present proven tools and frameworks that producers can use immediately to improve profitability while stewarding their land.”

WFD attendees will learn from Dr Williams’ experience across thousands of farms and supply chains globally, where management principles are being applied not just to improve farm profitability and environmental outcomes, but are enhancing wellbeing, food security and nutrition.

“Regenerative agriculture principally focuses on restoring our ecosystems, strengthening rural communities, and securing the health of our food for generations to come,” Dr Williams said.

“It’s about restoring what we’ve lost. Every farm is a living ecosystem and when we manage for life, everything thrives.”

“In Australia, with its unique landscapes and challenges, such practices are not just possible, they are essential. Australia’s landscapes hold the blueprint for resilience while regenerative agriculture helps unlock it.”

Wilmot Field Day reimagined

Presented by Macdoch Australia and Impact Ag Australia, WFD is hosted annually on farm at Wilmot Cattle Co. near Ebor NSW, bringing together experts in nature and climate-friendly farming, regenerative agriculture, and food systems transformation.

After a sellout event in 2025, the event format has been reimagined over two days, including concurrent sessions, paddock walks, hands-on demonstrations, keynote and panel presentations, alongside the popular Sunset Drinks and Dinner Under the Stars.

Macdoch Australia Chairman, Alasdair MacLeod said that this year’s event was designed to spark cross-industry conversations.

“Every year, WFD sees a growing movement of people who share a vision for the future where farmers, landscapes and communities thrive together,” Mr MacLeod said.

“This is a future where farms are resilient and profitable, where farming works with nature, where the work of regeneration is rewarded, and where communities can access nutritious food through more local and connected supply chains.”

“We need to be having collective conversations about transforming our food and agriculture sector – from the decisions being made in the paddock, to those being made in the supermarket, the board room or in policy discussions – this is what Wilmot Field Day is about.”

“The new event format will allow for greater connection and participation across two full days, bringing in a greater diversity of voices, and giving attendees unparallelled access to speakers and sessions.”

“We look forward to opening the farm gate again for WFD 2026 and I encourage anyone with an interest in learning more about resilient and profitable agriculture to come along.”

Program

Dr Allen Williams will be one of over thirty presenters featuring at the event, with themes spanning:

  • Farming, people and resilient landscapes: Connecting landscapes, food, people and communities as we work towards a better future for our agrifood systems.
  • Regenerating our food system: Taking a whole-system, science-based approach to land management and food production, working with nature to restore and enhance natural ecosystems.
  • Heathy soil, healthy food: Valuing and restoring our soils to produce food in a way that is more nutritious, better for the planet and builds resilience in our farm systems.
  • Prospering family farms: Revitalising family farms through nature-based markets, value-added supply chains and commercial opportunities that reward regenerative practices.
  • Local and connected supply chains: Forging new paddock to plate pathways to improve food security, give consumers access to healthy, sustainably produced food, and return the profits to primary producers.
  • Climate change solutions: Addressing and scaling the urgent need for emissions reductions through practices that store carbon in agricultural soils and landscapes.

Attendees can also expect to hear from primary producers, thought-leaders, agtech providers, and technical experts. More speakers will be announced soon.
